SmileTAG Shoutbox background color problem

Hi!

I've installed SmileTAG Shoutbox on mu Joomla site, and I see there's an option in Admin Panel called "Custom Text", that could be used to "create different background color".

So, the question is: how do I use Custom Text option (more specifficaly - "Custom Text 1" and "Custom Text 2" options) for creating alternating background color for messages in the shoutbox?

Hi,

Sorry about the delay in answering. We have been having some database server problems that needed to be taken care of. Part of the problem was the demo area. That has been taken down so showing how to use Smiletag in the manner you want to was not very convenient.

What will happen in the next couple of days is that I will set up a new demo, document Smiletag in a CHM and answer your question once I get back up to speed on the code base. This because as I remember smiltag does not support alternating background colors. But this can be fixed :)

I updated the main Smiletag download to 2.4.3. In this version there's a zebra tag so that you can alternate colors using CSS. The template file extension has been changed from template.html to template.php so that you can hack it up using PHP.

The modules to other CMS systems have not been updated. One of the main reason is because the documentation for Drupal 6.0 and Joomla! 1.5 is so lacking. I will get on this later.
