Google is experimenting with adsense again. Many still have not gotten used to the "Ads by Goooooogle". Complaints about the branding scheme have remained. Now there is a new logo appearing in ads.
The new logo was seen on this site and on others in the last few hours. It shows an image with "ads by Google". What is irritating is that the background for the image does not match the chosen color in the ad setup.
The image is nicer looking and will probably bring more clicks and attention. In any case it is much more pleasant to see than the attempt to attract attention by using a misspelling of the Google name.

This is what is supposed to be the standard on all ads. but it only seems to appear on certain types and settings.

What has never been explained is why there is no consistency in what text is shown it seems to be based on the ad type or even worse on a random table.

I think someone needs to inform Google that the whole point to branding is to consistently show the same logo so that it is recognized in any context. "Ads by Goooooogle" does not fit into the theory. The new image is probably the right way to go. But it needs to be fine tuned to match the ads template.
Myself, I don't see what's wrong with the old and simple text. It's not like Google is suffering from a lack of marketing spread. Do they need to make themselves standout by diddling with a small text link?
One thing that those in the SEO business might note. When small changes like this start slipping out. Then it is usually because larger changes cause them to reveal themselves. Is there another algorithm change in the making?
Happy Publishing!
Caught another one. This time in colour. So it looks like this is something that we will be seeing more of. Still not right yet. The background should match or they should make it a bordered badge. Also now there are three different looks on ads and they seem to be rotating at random.
