ahamilton | Tue, 2008-03-04 06:40 tags: Code hacks, Developer Zone, FireOrb One of the things that bugs me most about Drupal is the file structure. It is totally chaotic. When you try and find something in the core it usually is spread over five or six files. A function here a function there. This is because there is no MVC or any type of pattern to the madness. So what we decided to do with FireOrb is to do some big time house cleaning. Files are being moved and renamed so that when you look in includes or core you see just what is available. This is a preliminary to making the structure so that you can update the files by just overwriting or replacing a single directory. I am also going to try and inject some Movable Type style structure to the backend so that when I want to make changes in the database functions I can find the files containing those functions in the directory named "database".
