php | Sun, 2008-07-13 15:58 tags: Announcements, Open source, PHP The core model and goal of this project was not to create the next best open source CMS. There are already enough of them. The goal was to build an extensible system that an experienced PHP developer could use to easily create custom, interactive websites that are straightforward enough for anyone to run. This was implemented using the Zend Framework, Jquery javascript library, and FCK Editor. What's NewVersion 1.0 Released! The production version has been updated to ZF1.5. The entire templating system has be refactored to use Zend Layout. Other key features include Google integration, Edit in place, richer navigation features, and much more. The new site will be live within a week, and will have a great deal more information about this project. Note: 1.0.1 includes two important bug fixes for the news and events modules. Call for feedbackhelp me make this system work better for you. if you have any questions about the system, ideas to make it better please, or bug reports please go to the Forum. ![]() User's manualsThe developer, designer, and administrator manuals are currently in progress. The draft of the administrator's manual is now available for download in the downloads section. Note that this draft was written for version 0.9.2. Everything is still valid, but some of the screenshots are a little off as the Menus section was moved from the Pages section to its own Navigation section. NEW: check out the templates pdf to learn more about designing your DSM sites. Important Notes:Browser compatibility: The admin site uses advanced AJAX features which IE does not approve of. At this time it is recommended that you administer the site using Firefox only. Who is interested in this CMS?This system has been developed specifically for experienced PHP developers. The following skills will be required to get the most out of the system:
Once the system is set up and customized as needed anyone with basic computer skills can take over the management. Can this system handle large sites?I ran several tests today on the system to find out just how many pages the cms can reasonably handle. See the results
