Description

The staticHTML module is now a fully working model with the administration section and help text completed. With this module you can set static HTML pages into Drupal and navigate, protect and maintain them easily. Features automatic Drupal navigation menu creation and choices for content presention are themed page, popup window and iframe.

If you would like to have access control to your HTML archive it is recommended that you download and use Hiveminds improved version of Drupals taxonomy.module which has support for taxonomy access, i18n and freetagging.

Review

Noticable is the speed differences when using static material rather than the database. HTML in a popup window is very fast because it is unladen with Drupals loading structure. staticHTML traverses through the directory structure when it scans for documents and creates links. This means that html pages can use their own link structure when using iframe or popup mode. Use of PHP and other scripting will run from the pages inside of Drupal when using iframe or popup window mode. This module should be very popular with story and article publishers. Requirements

The requirement of this module are simple. You need filesystem access and Apache Server htaccess support for securing the directories. Directory security on a Windows server is possible also but most web host do not allow this. Drupals taxonomy module must be activated.

Installation

Installation is straight forward and only requires the setting of a vocabulary to match the containing directory staticHTML takes care of the rest.
