The death of IE6 will revolutionize web design

The gif image format, one of the icons of the web is dying but not fast enough. The gif image format with its transparency ability should be replaced by the PNG format. Why is it still being used when with PNG only your imagination is the limit for creating killer web designs.

Make Your CSS Menu Appear on Top

You have just finished creating or installing a killer CSS Drop menu for your website. There is only one problem, in IE6 the menu disappears where HTML form elements and Flash layers appear. Form elements in IE will always cover DHTML layers. That means if you have a DIV that pops up or floats on the page and it crosses with a form element such as the common SELECT box, the form element will bleed through the CSS menu no matter what zIndex you have set. An example of this happening could be seen a Hiveminds.co.uk if not for the fix used.

It is rare that I just try something because it is new and cutting edge. This explains why I have not even opened myspace.com in my webrowser before today. Curiosity finally got hte better of me and so I signed up to see what all the talk was about. Social networking and all that it is supposed to be is to be found at myspace.com right? So after taking a couple of minutes to creat profile I lapse into my oldest habit, modifiying and hacking.
