This is the second time within a months period that they have suffered from some form of outage. This may be proof that YouTube can never work because of the amount of stress it places on the free web. So maybe a pay internetworking system will soon be in the Google thinking.

There have been a few websites giving notice to Opera's soon to come developer tool, Dragonfly. Dragonfly is a javascript debugging tool for the Opera web browser. Microsoft is also coming out with its own javascript debugger in a developer tools package. But is having a bunch of debugger tools in each web browser what developers want? Probably not. Luckily The makers of Firebug have come up with a solution. It's called Firebug Lite. Firebug is an extension for Firefox, but what happens when...

Okay, seperate backend and frontend theme system is done. This in not just a redirect to a new page template but an implementation of the complete theme for the backend. So now you can create a theme for the backend without interpolating the code for it into the frontends theme. Firered can be the frontend and as soon as you go to the new control panel you can choose a theme like Marvin. Blocks and regions are seperate so removing or moving theme is easy and does not conflict when changing...

Some might be thinking that one person or a small group of persons could never hope to run a fork of Drupal because of its size or whatever. vbDrupal proves that the only thing you really need is to "just do it". vbDrupal is a fork of the CMS Drupal. The hook system is going to be the next big change right after getting seperate templates to work for the front and...

This morning I spotted some new sitings of google testing of Adsense formats. This time they seem to be testing scrolling the iframe through multiple ads. It threw me off at first because i though that it was adbrite placing an overlay on the Google ads. But then they appeared in ads that come directly from the Google Adsense server.

The last few months I have been keeping an eye on http://snaps.php.net to see when and if the windows binaries for PHP6 would show. A couple of days ago the nightly builds started showing for win32. Now I can experiment with PHP6 and learn more about it without having to compile the source. This is a happy coincidence because a fellow worker asked me if I had tried PHP6 and what did I think. I declined to answer because I have been too lazy to do anything more than download the source and...
